We are committed to on going training and development of all staff.
Practice meetings are held weekly with Doctors and the Practice Manager.
These meetings are also used for training purposes and speakers invited.
The Practice Manager meets weekly with the nursing/admin and reception
staff to discuss any issues arising / again this is used for training
purposes i.e. first aid / resusitation training which is updated
annually.
Meetings with the full Primary Health Care Team take place quarterly,
although if there are any specific issues to discuss staff are invited
to attend the weekly Practice Meeting.
Our Practice Nurse team consists of two part-time Practice Nurses who
as part of their role cover the following clinics:

illness problems.
Patients are offered an appointment in her clinic which runs each

Two of our Doctors, Dr Andrew Whitton and Dr Michael Kingston are
qualified trainers.
We take 5th year Medical Students from Liverpool University for three
training blocks per year and they each spend 6 weeks in the practice.
We also have full time Registrars usually spending their 12 month
training period with the practice.
This year the Practice has become involved in a joint Registrar training
scheme with the Palliative Care service. The Trainees spend 3 months
with the Practice and their time is divided between GP and Palliative
Care training at St John's Hospice.
We are constantly auditing our services to help identify areas for
advancement and improvement. |
